Contrary to most of the vineyards in the World where this decision depends heavily on the weather and the health of the grapes, the dry and regular climate of Chile at the harvest time allows waiting till the optimal ripeness of the grapes to pick them, without threatening the weather forecast or the fungus attacks.
At Lapostolle, bunches are all picked by hand, and collected in small rectangular cases with 12 to 15 kg of grapes.
